Exposition dossier «Le Fond de Bain» au Musée Basque

The exhibition features generous loans from the Musée d’Orsay and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, as well as from descendants of the family and private collectors. It is housed in the 19th-century gallery and tells the story of how Hermann-Paul, along with a circle of friends, founded *É Guéthary*, a satirical newspaper that depicts, in a witty and playful manner, the awkward encounters between tourists and the local population. Their perspective is one of liminality: they are Parisians, to be sure, but they spend more than half the year in the Basque Country.
