Festival Haizebegi

For its 13th edition, taking place from October 8 to 18, 2026, Haizebegi brings together in the Basque Country folk music from La Mancha, Yazidi voices in exile, Basque artistic creation, and research on the links between music and autism. For eleven days, artists, researchers, thinkers, and citizens come together around a shared conviction: music never tells the story of music alone; it tells the story of the societies that bring it to life, their legacies, and their upheavals. Haizebegi turns it into a space for sharing, celebrating, and building community. A shared curiosity runs through this 13th edition: how can we pass on a memory, preserve a culture in exile, and breathe new life into musical repertoires? Whether on stage or around a table, in a theater, a movie theater, or at the heart of a grand celebration, Haizebegi is experienced as much as it is conceived.
