Bidart

Toki-Toki 1 Rue des Écoles 64210 BIDART

Noé’s Ark made a stop at the port of Bidart This explains the presence in the Basque Country of whales and small horses—pottoks—which has been documented since prehistoric times! Above them fly numerous seagulls that drink from the springs gushing from our cliffs. Whaling allowed the Basques to make a living until the 17th century. Today, it’s the pottoks that attract visitors, especially on the slopes of La Rhune. Twice a year, as part of our program, Martine will host an hour-long session featuring Toki-Toki’s local book collection to explore the history and—sometimes curious—memories of our city and the Basque Country. The Workshop ? Workshop-lecture ? Open to all ages ? Duration: 1 hour
