Carmen Lundy Carmen Lundy (voice), Andrew Renfroe (guitar), Julius Rodriguez (piano), Darryll Hall (bass), Terreon Gulley (drums) Recognised as one of the most outstanding voices in contemporary jazz, Carmen Lundy is a multi-faceted artist: singer, pianist, composer, film producer and visual artist. For many, she is quite simply the finest jazz vocalist working today, admired for her innovative musicality, her stage presence and her own extraordinarily wide-ranging repertoire of over two hundred compositions. Born in Miami, she began her career at a very young age and graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Studio Music and Jazz. After collaborating with musicians such as her brother Curtis Lundy, Bruce Hornsby and Jaco Pastorius, she moved to New York, where she continued her development alongside artists such as Ray Barretto, Kenny Kirkland, Mulgrew Miller, Terri Lyne Carrington, Kip Hanrahan, Robert Glasper, Geri Allen, Bobby Watson and Courtney Pine, among others. With five decades of recording experience, he has sold out the main stages around the world and in recent years has triumphed at festivals such as Central Avenue, DC Jazz Festival, Detroit Jazz Festival and the London Jazz Festival. Critically acclaimed internationally, Lundy has received accolades from The New York Times, The Village Voice, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post and numerous publications around the world. As a composer, her music has been performed by such luminaries as Kenny Barron, Ernie Watts and Straight Ahead with Regina Carter. Live, Carmen Lundy, with her unique voice, displays a captivating combination of virtuosity, emotion and a playful spirit that places her among the greatest in jazz today.
