Zarautz Semana Grande 2026 (Aste Nagusia)

In August, Zarautz puts the surfboards away (briefly) and dives into its Semana Grande, the Aste Nagusia, in honour of Andra Mari. On the menu: fireworks over the longest beach in Gipuzkoa, concerts on the Dama stage (right on the seafront promenade), trainera rowing races, giants and big-heads, professional pelota and a happy crowd in full fiesta mode. Something for everyone: by day, a family plan with the beach right there; by night, an atmosphere that never lets up. Getting there: in summer the car is your worst enemy (parking is mission impossible). Do yourself a favour and take the Euskotren (Donostia–Bilbao line, stop in the centre). Most events are free and outdoors; arrive early to grab a spot for the fireworks.
