Exposition : Femmes du port

Until the 1960s, women were kept out of sailing and fishing. But what was the reality? What role(s) do fishermen?s daughters, wives and widows play in the economy of the port of Saint-Jean-de-Luz and Ciboure? "Femmes du port" invites you to sail through these little-known waters, lifting the veil on five centuries of history, from the 17th century to the present day, and on the major role played by women in the maritime economy.
