Le Temps d’Aimer la Danse – Rendez-Vous dance – Mathieu Geffré – What songs may do

Mathieu Geffré, a French choreographer based in the UK, offers a deeply moving and intense duet, revisiting the traditional form of the love duet. Through the songs of Nina Simone, choreographer Mathieu Geffré brings to life the turbulence of love: its surges, its fractures, its unpredictable returns. On stage, two bodies search for each other, collide and find each other again, traversing the depths of the heart, its asperities and its intensity. This loving duo explores the ebbs and flows of memory, from a still-burning past to a love that may yet be rediscovered, and captivates us with the famous hit "I Put a Spell on You". Mathieu Geffré?s inventive, committed writing is one of the finest discoveries of this year?s festival.
