Gau Beltza in Hendaye: witches' ball

The event that opens Hendaye's Gau Beltza, and the most family-friendly of the three: costumes, music and dancing with the children front and centre, at 16:30. Gau Beltza is the Basque witches' night, older than Halloween: here people hollowed out turnips, not pumpkins. It is free and outdoors, so there is nothing to book. At 19:00 the parade sets off through the centre.
